America the Beautiful

The American national parks, including other state-run parks, offer an annual pass that can be amortized from around 4 national parks visited.

Annual Pass (National Parks and State Recreational Areas)

This annual pass is valid for 12 months from the month of purchase and costs $ 80. This means that entry is open to all U.S. National parks and state-run recreational areas covered. The pass holder can take another 3 people who are in the car into the park. Children under 16 are free and do not cost (count).

Note: you have to sign the annual pass on the back and it is therefore tied to one person. Theoretically, but only theoretically, the ranger at the park entrance checks and compares the name with your ID or driver's license. BUT: It is good that a second person can sign the back, so you can in principle pass the pass on to someone else, for example your friends.

These state-run recreation areas mentioned above include:

  • U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS)
  • USDA Forest Service
  • Bureau of Land Management (BLM)
  • Bureau of Reclamation

Seniors (62 years and older), the U.S. Are resident or citizen

This group of people can purchase the pass for $ 10, valid for life.

Annual passes

They are generally a very good investment if you plan to visit several parks. Entrance to a national park usually costs $ 10 to $ 25 per car.

You can get the passes at every entrance of a national park or the other participating parks.
