Questions and answers about corona vaccination in Baden-Württemberg

With a view to the socially necessary and desired openings in the education sector, Baden-Württemberg is moving teachers and educators from level 4 of the recommendations of the Standing Vaccination Commission (STIKO) to level 2 in consultation with the other federal states and the federal government help ensure that schools and daycare centers are as safe as possible.

Eligible for vaccination are people who work in childcare facilities, in day care, full-time in facilities and outreach services of child and youth welfare and as school teachers / employees in schools. These include elementary, industrial, secondary, community and secondary schools, grammar schools, special needs education and advice centers, vocational schools, elementary school support classes and school kindergartens with direct contact with children and young people / pupils, as well as the trainees and students who work in the relevant institutions as part of their training. In addition to the people teaching and educating there, this also includes, for example:

  • Other school staff such as caretakers or secretarial staff.
  • Social pedagogues in appropriate institutions.
  • Visiting staff from public youth welfare (e.g. also in the youth welfare office).
  • School and daycare attendants.
  • Employees of the curative education services and interdisciplinary early intervention centers.
  • University professors who work in the context of practical training at the above-mentioned schools

Since February 22, 2021, teachers and educators have been able to book an individual vaccination appointment in a vaccination center conveniently located for them via the central appointment system. The same applies to the medical staff from levels 1 and 2 of the STIKO recommendations. Appointments are made centrally via the 116 117 hotline and, above all, via Impfterminservice.de. Due to the large number of inquiries and the limited vaccine supply, we ask for your understanding that there may be delays. In the course of the second quarter, we expect a significant increase in vaccine delivery volumes and hope that the delays will be reduced as a result.

When making appointments via the online platform, please note that teachers and other employees in the educational institutions are not yet explicitly identified there as a group entitled to vaccinate. The state uses the federal system here and is dependent on the federal government to change the texts of the booking system. The groups mentioned are nevertheless entitled to make an appointment for vaccination with immediate effect. The dates booked in this way are valid. The actual verification of the eligibility for vaccination takes place on site in the centers.
